TREASON AGAINST THE PEOPLE. THE PENALTY IN GERMANY. SERVITUDE OR EVEN DEATH. (United Press Association —Copyright.) (Received) This Day, 11.40 a.m.) LONDON, May 9.The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Mail” says that a new penal code will shortly be issued in Germany. It provides for a new crime called "treason against the people,” meaning speaking or writing abusively about the German people, their past or customs, which is punishable by penal servitude or eyen death.
