SPOUTS TICKETS.

AUCKLAND REJECTS PLAN. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND', April 30. i, Acting on an adverse report by its manager, the Transport Board to-day rejected a member’s proposal that a sixpenny sports ticket should be made available between 1 and 7 o’clock on Saturdays to any sports ground and back to the place of issue. The manager said that the fixing of cheap fares was ineffectual in combating the loss of revenue from thousands of. persons carried free by private motor-cars. There were 23,000 cars in the Auckland Province, and they were increasing month by month. It could not be said that the cost of conveyance by car was less than by tram, but' in the case of a private car at the particular time of travel usually the actual cost was not thought of in any way. ‘
