BOWLING.
THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The Ashburton Bowling Club closed its 1934-35 season with a progressive doubles tournament yesterday afternoon, but rain interfered with the play and only three of the five rounds were completed. ' There was a good attendance of members.
F. H. Steel won the skips' prize with three wins, and F. Self was the winner of the leads, also with three wins.
CHRISTCHURCH TOURNAMENT WON BY R.S.A. CLUB RINK. , CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Tlik Returned Soldiers' Association Bowling Club, which has been in existence only about four years, won the Christchurch Bowling Centre's Easter rinks tournament yesterday. Two of the winning rink, P, J. Gaffney and H. Mason, are colts, having had less than two years' experience; the third, F. Drake, has played for some five
years, and for a while as a .member of the St. Albans Club. The skip, A. B. Young, is an experienced player with a bowling career in Dunedin and Oamaru. The final resulted:—P. J. Gaffney, H. Mason, F, Drake, A. B. Young (R.S.A.) 22, G. Adkins, W. Dalzell, J. Wormald, 0. "Taylor (Sydenham) 19.
