FEARS FOR A MURDER

War ’planes, with, a detachment of soldiers and police and scores of civilians are co-operating, under the leadership of General Landrot, in a search for Nicole, a four-year-old dangliter of Major Tliejlleul, who was kidnapped from the courtyard of her home at Chaumont.
The search is being continued after two days, but it is feared that the child has been murdered.
Crowds, expecting • news, waited day and night outside the police station while an ex-convict was subjected to the third degree for 30 hours. Public interest has been so aroused that the case is called “the French Lindbergh case,” although no- ransom has been demanded.
