HOME MISSIONARY AT WAKANUI. PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH FUNCTION. Mr S. Webb, who has been connected with Presbyterian home mission work for a number of years and has accepted a call to Wakanui, was welcomed at a very enjoyable function in the Wakanui Church on Tuesday evening. The Rev. R. S. Watson presided over a good attendance of church members and friends. Mr S. Corbett (session clerk) welcomed Mr and Mrs Webb, and asked the congregation to support them in their work. He hoped their sojourn at Wakanui would be helpful to the people and a pleasure to themselves. On behalf of the Methodist Church, Mr F. Frampton extended best wishes to the guests for their future success. Other speakers were Mrs %. C Bonnington (Presbyterian Women's Missionary Union), and Mr J. West (Bible Class). Both Mr and Mrs West expressed their thanks for the welcome, and Mr Webb said he would do all in his power to further the interests of God's Kingdom at Wakanui. Items were contributed by Miss I. Jamieson and Mr and Mrs E. G. Craighead, and supper was served by the ladies.
