HOCKEY.
TINWALD WOMEN’S CLUB. HELD. The annual meeting of the Tinwald Women’s Hockey Club was -held last evening, when Mr T. Gudsell presided in the absence of Mr H. B. Millichamp. The balance sheet showed a credit of- £4 2s lid. The chairman congratulated the club on the successful season. A motion of sympathy was passed with Mrs A. Loach in the loss of her mother.
The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr J. H. Grigg; president, Mr H. B. Millicliamp; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Bryant, T. E. Tarbotton, H. J. Chapman, J. Bishop, H. J. Bell, H. Sutherland, A. J. Millic'hamp, T. Gudsell, T. A. Mclnnes and Mrs A. Loach; captain, Miss A. Loach; vice-captain, Miss F. Gudsell; secretary and treasurer, Miss M. Chapman; committee, Misses F. Gudsell, A. Loach, M. Chapman, P. Baker, and V. Harris and Mrs Loach; selection committee, Misses M. Chapman, F. Gudsell and A. Loach; delegates to Ashburton Women’s Hockey Association, Misses F. Gudsell and A. Loach.
The following committee was elected to meet the Ashburton Rugby Union regarding a combined dance to be held on June 3, Misses M, Chapman, A. Loach and Mr O. H. Day. Votes of thanks were passed to those who lent cars last season, and to Miss M. Henderson for her services as secretary and treasurer in the past. Miss F. Gudsell was congratulated on her success at the ,New Zealand athletic championships.
It was decided to hold over the number of teams to be entered, ’as tlie club is desirous of entering a junior team if possible. Mr A. McMillan was appointed coach.
