' ST. STEPHEN’S MEN’S CLUB LIGHTS FOR NIGHT PRACTICES. Tim annual meeting of the St. Stephen’s Men’s Hockey Cluh was held last evening, the president (Mr S. M. Cassidy) presiding. The annual report stated that the club’s senior team was third in the Mid-Canterbury men’s hockey _ subassociation’s competition. The junior team won the junior competition and the junior five-a-side tournament. Seven players had won representative honours. The balance-sheet disclosed a satisfactory position. The following officers were elected: —
Patron, the Ven. Archdeacon A. J. Petrie; president, Air S. M. Cassidy; vice-presidents x Messrs W. B. Thomas, W. H. Woods, G. Bowman, F. Curtis, J. Cook, and H. Ftmge'; secretary and treasurer, Mr M. C. Childs; coach, Air Cassidy; delegates to Mid-Canterbury Men’s Hockey Sub-Association, Messrs Cassidy and Vunge; delegate to AlidCanterbury Sports Protection Association, Air H. G. Paterson. it was decided to send a letter of sympathy to Mr Al. Baker, a former vice-president, in his illness. Tiie sum of IDs 6d was voted to the St. Stephen’s Literary and Social Club to be included in its donation to tlie V estry for the use of the Parish Hall. It was decided' to recommend tne Association to consider tlie question of erecting lights on tne men’s grounds in tlie .Domain for night practices. It was resolved to. write to Mr E. M. Gaoites requesting him to accept nomination for re-election to the office oi president of the Association. An endeavour will be made to arrange an opening match with the Cambridge CluO (Tiniaru).
