VERONAL IN OVERDOSE
TENNIS PLAYER'S DISTRESS. SAVED BY PROMPT TREATMENT. (United Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 18. The Paris correspondent of the “Daily Mail” says that the lawn tennis player Merlin returned from a strenuous day’s training and immediately went to bed. His parents were awakened during the night by groans and found him suffering froln an overdose of veronal, which he was taking because he was sleeping badly alter a recent motor smash, He was rushed to hospital and prompt treatment saved his life.
