Mr W. Jones (Mayor of Whangarei) paid a visit to Ashburton to-day.

Senior-Sergeant W. T. Kelly left Ashburton by car this morning on promotion to Invercargill. It was his intention to stay in (Dunedin en route.

Dr. J. Russell Wells, who has been attending the annual meeting of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Melbourne, will return to Ashburton on Friday.

The Rev. W- E. Vickery and several members of the Ashburton Church of Christ will attend the annual conference of the Canterbury-Westland district of the Associated. Churches of Christ in Christchurch this evening.
