LATE COMMERCIAL
TINWALD STOCK MARKET.
PRICES SHOW A SHARP DECLINE
YARDING OF AVERAGE QUALITY
There was only an average yarding of fat sheep at the Timvald stock market to-day, and, on the whole, the quality of the offerings was a little below the usual standard. Prices were down about 2s a head, compared with the sale at the Ashburton yards last week, but the drop was due more to the small demand than to the slight inferiority of the sheep. A few pens of well-conditioned sheep were offered, and . these sold readilyt at good prices. Mr J. Moore, of Ruapuna, forwarded a good line of five ewes which realised 16s lOd, this being the top price until mid-day. The same vendor also received the highest price for wethers, selling one at 235. Up till noon the best price for lambs was 23s 4d, for one sold oil behalf of L. Grice (Timvald).
