MISS JEAN BATTEN.
BRIEF VISIT TO AUCKLAND. (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 18. Paying a brief visit to Auckland, Miss Jean Batten, New Zealand aviatrix, arrived by the Monowai from Sydney. She expects to leave again at the end of the week. Miss Batten stated that she had had a pleasant time in Australia during her stay there, during which she had been making arrangements for a venture in the near future. Although plans for this were well under way, she preferred to make no announcement at the present stage. She was met on board by her father and a nunibei of personal friends.
