DANCE DISTURBERS.

POLICE TO USE FIRM HAND. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH, March 14. “There has been a lot of trouble at dances held in the country districts with disturbances and bad language, and we intend to put such behaviour down with a firm hand,” said Sub-In-spector Maclean in tho Police Court, when Leo Charles Streeter, aged 18, was charged with using obscene language at Halswell and also with being drunk. , , “I had a similar case to deal with yesterday in another country district,” said the magistrate (Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M.) The sub-inspector saul that there had been complaints abyut behaviour at dances at Halswell, and the hall was visited by a constable. The accused was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within six months.
