It is announced that the PostmasterGeneral (Sir Kingsley Wood), the Under-Secretary for the Dominions (Mi Malcolm MacDonald) and Lord Hut-, chison (one time Libei al V hip) wi form a committee to control the operations of a national publicity bureau to carry out propaganda work on benal of the Government. It is explained that the establishment of the bureau does not mean the formation or a national party. : . Many newspapers feature the improved overseas trade position revealed in tho Board of Trade figures for hebruary, and stress the signs of returning confidence. - “The Times” alludes to the improvement in the unemployment returns and argues that the position ot the Government has been strengthened as a result of the defence debate. It says that, in spite of the increases in tho Estimates, there is no threat whatever to the solvency of the Budget and there is even hope that the Chancellor of the Exchequer (Mr Cham-, berlain) may make progress toward .re-, moral of the emergency burdens imposed in 1931. At last, it is added, the fall in the exchange value of sterling appears to have been checked by a natural recovery of confidence. ORGANISING SECRETARY. Davidson (who was private secretary to Lord Somers when the latter was k Governor of Victoria), has been, appointed organising secretary of the National Publicity Bureau established to support tho National Government by propaganda work.
