THE ALLENTON CLUB. CHAMPION SINGLES FINAL PLAY. The final of the Allenton Bowling Club's championship singles between J. Templeton (two lifer) and R. Mathieson (one lifer) was won by Templeton 23 to 13. Following is a brief summary of the game:—First head—Mathieson drew a toucher with his first and second bowls. Templeton rested the shot bowl and also scored a toucher. Mathieson trailed the white for shot. Templeton failed, and Mathieson drew another. Second head—Templeton drew two nice shots, Mathieson just failing to rest the shot bowl. Templeton with his last trailed the white to bring in another.

The third and fourth heads were very evenly contested. Fifth head—Templeton drew the shot. Mathieson drew his second shot, but Templeton just got past it to give him two. The sixth head was a little wide. Seventh head—Templeton drew three nice shots, and Mathieson played three bowls a little thin and failed to save. Eighth head—Mathieson drew a good shot, but Templeton played a nice bowl to rest it. Mathieson with his last bowl pushed Templeton's through to lie two. The ninth head was the reverse of the last head, Templeton getting two. Tenth head—Templeton drew two shots, and Mathieson had' the first drive of the evening, but missed. The score on the eleventh was 14-6 in Templeton's favour. They each got a single on the'twelfth and thirteenth. Fourteenth head—Mathieson drew two nice shots, but Templeton trailed the white for two. Mathieson with his last drew second shot. Fifteenth head—Templeton drew two

shots, Mathieson again going thin with three bowls, Mathieson had a good green with his last, but wab a shade heavy. The score was 18-7 in Templeton's favour. Sixteenth head—Mathieson scored one.

Seventeenth ' head—Mathieson drew two nice shots behind the white and Templeton just failed to reach them. Eighteenth head—Templeton scored two, making the score 20-10. Nineteenth head—Templeton drew the shot just short of the white. Mathieson played a beautiful shot to push it through for two. Twentieth head—Mathieson drew two shots, Templeton going through. Mathieson with his last bowl was a bit strong, and trailed the white, leaving him only one. The score was 20-13. Twenty-first head—Templeton di'ew two shots. Mathieson drove with his third, but missed. Templeton drew another, and Mathieson tried to draw with his last, but dropped short, the game finishing 23-13 in Templeton s favour. WELLINGTON PAIRS TITLE. WELLINGTON, March 7. ' The Hutt Bowling Club pair, B. Ginger and G. Denre (s), won the champion of champions pairs competition of the Wellington Centre, outplaying the Upper Hutt representatives, J. H. Brown and J. Goodwin (s), in the final this afternoon. Results: — Semi-finals: Hutt (Ginger andDeare) 25, Wellington (Walls and Mayer) 15; Upper Hutt (Brown and Goodwin) 22, Island Bay (Eamshaw and Conder) 13. Final: Hutt 24, Upper Hutt 12.
