Miss Metal man, o f the staff of the Ashburton Post Office, who has been on temporary transfer to Christchurch, for some months, resumed duty in Ashburton to-dav.
Mr 0. Gardiner, of the Ashburton Pest and Telegraph staff, is relieving at Mayfield during the absence on annual holiday of the postmaster (Mr G. E. Kay).
Sister V. E. Dearsley', of the staff of the Ashburton public Hospital, left yesterday to undergo a four months’ course of training in the laboratory of the Christchurch Public Hospital, preparatory to taking charge of the laboratory oj the Ashburton Hospital.
Lieutenant-Colonel Sir Godfrey Dal-rymple-White passed through Ashburton to-day by car on his way to the southern lakes. He was accompanied by Lady Dnlrymple and a son and daughter.
The Rev. E. P. Blamires (young people’s organiser of the Methodist Church of New Zealand), left Ashburton for Timaru this morning. He will pay another visit to Ashburton next week and will deliver a number of addresses.
