Frenchman, an Australian member of the China Inland Mission, who was seized some time ago by bandits at Ningkiang in the south-west of Shensi Province. There is still no news of what has happened to his w'le. an Englishwoman. Nothing has been heard of Mr A. Hayman since it was reported a fortnight ago that he was still in a bandit stronghold in Hunan. The fate of twenty missionaries, in-' eluding twelve Australians, in Shensi is unknown.
