CATTLE SUBSIDY.
AID FOR BRITISH PRODUCER. (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, February 25. In the House of Commons, the Minister of Agriculture (Mr W. E. Elliot) said that he had no apology to offer for introducing a supplementary estimate of £2,146,300 for the cattle subsidy to cover the interim while the Government grappled with a large and involved problem. Members asked Mr Elliot to issue a White Paper indicating his general objective regarding agriculture generally and meat particularly. • The vote was carried by. 148 to 41.
