BUTTER SMUGGLING.

NEW ZEALAND PRODUCE. SUSPICION INI UNITED STATES. (United Press Association—Copyright.) NEW YORK, February 16. A message from Bellingham, Washington, states that a report that Ncav Zealand butter is being smuggled into Whatcom County is being investigated by the United States Customs authorities. A cargo of Ncav Zealand butter reached Vancouver, British Columbia, recently and vras awaiting entry to the State of Washington. Entry Avas refused by Dr. Robert Prior (State Director of Live-stock and Dairies) unless the butter Avere accompanied by certificates showing that it came from dairies complying Avith the equivalent of the, Washington sanitary requirements. He was told that it AA T ould ho impossible to trace the product to its soLirces.
