FARMING IN BRITAIN. (Per Press Association.) 'WELLINGTON, February 15. On his return to-day by the Rangitiki after 15 months as exchange lecturer in economics at Leeds University, Mr H. R. Redwell, of Auckland, said a big hid was being made by England to engage in farming, but there were great difficulties in -the way of reorganisation, largely because of tradition and custom among the mass of farmers. Much more development of British farming could he expected, especially in butter and milk, also in the beet sugar industry. The quota effects were quite apparent, in keeping with farm expansion. He thought it possible that a quota would he applied to New Zealand butter.
