BYRD EXPEDITION SHIPS. 900 MILES FROM DUNEDIN, (United Press Association —Copyright) MONTREAL, February 14. A message from the Byrd Expedition ship Jacob Ruppert, states that she has been struck by numerous squalls since she left Little America. Ihe ship emerged from the tempestuous' sixties to-day, her noon position being oJAJ South, 173.45 East, Tibout 890 miles from Dunedin. The Bear of Oaklam is about a hundred miles astern, according to radio communication. Eaily to-day the wind reached a velocity ot 60 miles an hour and once it was necessary to change the ship’s course to provide a lee for the two aeroplanes which are docked on the after liatch.
