YEARLING SALES HELD. TOP TRICE 2100 GUINEAS. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, January 23. The annual sale of thoroughbred yearlings was held at Trentham to-day. There was a large attendance of ringsiders from all parts of New Zealand, and Australian interests were strongly in force. The highest price was secured for the brother to Veilmond. Bidding for him was confined solely to Australians. He ultimately fell to J. T. Jamieson at 2100gns., or 300gns less • than the record price at a Trentham sale. In all eighty-five lots were sold for 19,515 guineas, at an average of 225 guineas. The principal sales were as follows— On account of Hr T. M. Lowry, Okawa: gns. Westenra 65gns for the Blink filly, and Dalgetv and Co. 170gns for the Palestrina filly. J. W. Fankhurst, of Orari, bought the Captain BunsbyReveal colt for 47Jgns.
