CRICKET.
THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. A FINE PARTNERSHIP. The feature of the Ashburton County Cricket Association's' competition matches on Saturday afternoon was the partnership of R.' H. Biggar and R. W T . Biggar, father and son, who made 108 and 148 respectively, or a total of 256, for High School in the junior grade match against Methyen. Both' appeared to be right on form, R. H. Biggar knocking up six boundaries and was not out at the end of the match, while R. W. Biggar's score included 13 sixes. Other good batting totals were B. T. Clothier (Kia Ora) 84, J. Varcoe (Ashburton B) 76, and S. Willis ((Fairfield) 59. The best bowling average was that of P. Doig (Rakaia), who took six wickets for 11 runs in the senior grade fixture with Methven. S. Smith (Methven) performed the hat trick in the junior match against High School. Only two junior matches were played, Coldstreajn having defaulted to, Tinwald and Lauriston to Technical.
