Championships,. Results of the championship play were:— Boys' Singles—Final: C. Penfold beat R. SPattinson. 6-3, 7-5.
Combined tDbubles—Semi-finals: W. G. Robertson and Mrs D. Barker beat A. Sandrali and Miss E. Rudkin, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1; H. Dymond and Mrs- Beale beat W. E. Renton and Miss N. Sullivan, 6-3, 6-3. Final: Robertson and Mrs Barker beat Dymond and Mrs Beale, 6-1, 6-4." Junior Girls' Singles—Final: M. Richardson'beat J. IJaton, 6-3, 6-5. Handicap Matches. Results in the semi-finals and finals of handicap events were: — Men's Singles —Semi-final: Baker (scr) beat C. Dunning l(owe 15, 2-6), 9-3. Women's Singles—Final: Miss D. Shirtcliffe (owe 15, 3-6) beat Miss N. McPhail (owe 2-6), 9-4. /In the fourth round of the men's handicap singles P. McLauchlan (Ashburton), owe 30, beat F. G. Lewis (owe 15, 3-6), 9-3. The fourth round of the men's handicap doubles saw C. H. Minifie and McLauchlan (owe 15, 1-6) beat J. Darby and W. Sexton (scr), 9-5. THE AUSTRALIAN TOURNEY. MELBOURNE, January 2. The Australian lawn tennis championships were continued to-day. Results :—i Men's Singles.—A. Quist (South Australia) defeated Walton, 6-1. 6-2, 6-3; G. de Stefani (Italy) defeated D. Frankenburg 6-1, 6-1,6-1; V. McGrath (N.S.W.) defeated Mackenzie, 6-0, 6-4. Women's Singles.—Miss D. Round (Great Britain) defeated Miss Stevenson, 6-2, 6-3 Combined Doubles.—C. Boussus (France) and Miss Bickerton defeated R. Ireland and Miss McCrae, 6-1, 6-3; R. Malcolm and Mrs Malcolm (South Africa) defeated J. Brugnon (France) and Miss Bellamy, 6-4, 8-6.
