LIEUT. ULM'S FLIGHT.
MELBOURNE BY SUNDAY. 'PLANE REACHES CANADA. (United Press Association— Copyright). QUEBEC, November 19. Flight-Lieut. C. T..P. Ulm is planning °to h> his streamlined Airspeed Envoy monoplane across Canada to Vancouver and thence to Australia on a new ait mail route. The 'plane was landed to-day from the steamship Athenia, Mr Ulm is having his 'plane assembled during the night so that he can take off early to-morrow.
Lieutenant Ulm expressed uncertainty about the exact details of his flight. Much will depend on the weather ever Canada and the Pacific, If all went well, he said, he hoped to be in Melbourne by next Saturday or Sunday While he would not say tor certain, it appeared that Lieutenant Ulm, after leaving Vancouver, would stop at Honolulu and Suva. ULM ARRIVES AT MONTREAL. (Received This Day, 1.35 p.m.) MONTREAL, November 20. Flight-Lieutenant Ulm hopped off from Quebec at noon to-day and arrived at Montreal, covering ISO mik>3 in 60 minutes. REPORTED CHANCE OF PLAN. CUTTING OUT SAN FRANCISCO. (Received This Day, 1.15 p.m.) VANCOUVER, November 20. A reported change in Lieutenant Ulin's plans, to fly direct to Hawaii or Fanning Island from Vancouver, instead of via San Francisco, startled local flyers, who to-day began calculations for extending the half-mile run. way to a mile. Ulm will require two tons of petrol. No final decision will be reached hero until Lieutenant Ulm's arrival, which is likely to be on Thursday. He will have an escort of 10 local 'planes at the hop-off.
