Tlie biggest transaction in turf history has been carried out in New Y°ik by *a representative of a London turr commission agent, who bought up a the tickets in tlie Irish sweepstake on starters in the Cambridgeshire. For 60 tickets a sum of only £6U,UUU was paid, although they represented a ■winning amount of over £400.000. The ticket on the winner. Wychwood Abbot, was held by three persons; that on Commander, second, by eight; and that on Highlander, third, by four.
