TIDAL FLOODS IN VENICE. UNDERMINING OF FOUNDATIONS, EFFECT OF MOTOR-BOAT TRAFFIC (United Press Association—Copyright). (Received This Day, 1.45 p.m.) VENICE, November 8. Exceptional tidal floods are causing great damage, gondolas carrying the populate over St. Mark's Square. Several old houses collapsed and the marble decorations of a number oi : palaces are dropping off. The damage is serious as it follows extensive undermining of the foundations of palaces from the effects of motor-boat traffic. The populate is hastily moving furniture to the upper floors.
