A cyclonic, storm of great severity swept oyer Victoria, doing heavy damage to crops and property and causing two deaths. Frederick Serpell, a. farmer, aged 36, died from injuries when the storm swept his house away at Bolton. iSerpell, his wife and two sons were preparing to retire when the house was lifted bodily, the wreckage being strewn for nearly 100 yards from the site of the house. Serpell was 'found 50 yards away. His wife and children suffered minor injuries. Mrs James Hogan's home at Hey,wood was completely wrecked', and she had no chance of escaping.
