PIGEON SHOOTING.

THE METHVEN CLUB. SUCCESSFUL CLOSING DAY. Fine weather prevailed for the Methven Gun Club's closing day, held on Mount Harding racecourse on Saturday afternoon. There was a good* muster of shooters as well as supporters of the club. , Shooting conditions were somewhat difficult at times, as although, there was little wind, the light was patehy. A programme of four shoots included the cjub championship. The finals for the President's Trophy and the season's aggregate was also concluded. Un the whole the shooting was well up to standard and a shoot oft was necessary in each matcn. The club championship was won >y S H. Anderson. The winner of the president's trophy was W. Anderson, who had a total of 100 points; for the six shoots. He also scored 188 points in the aggregate for the season over all shoots, but was not eligible lor the trophy presented by Mr J. T. Corbett, and this went to his brother, b y i±. Anderson, with 181 points. At the conclusion of the programme the president (Mr T. S. Harrison) congratulated the winners on their success and thanked all for the support accorded to the club during a most successful season. Details arc:—>
