BIG STERLING HOLDING. (Special to the "Guardian.") WELLINGTON, August 9. The Gazette issued to-night, contains a statement of the assets and liabilities of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand as at the close of business on Monday, August 6. It is as follows :

Cheese —Steady, Unchanged. PEDIGREE PIGS SOLD. / HAMILTON, August 9. Unprecedented prices, ranging up to 53 guineas, marked the first annual sale of Mountley pedigree pigs, the property of Mr A. T, Rogers, Ngaruawahia, which was held to-day at the Oaudelands showgrounds. The offering comprised, about 260 pigs, mostly pedigree Tamworths, Berkshires, Devons and cross sows were also penned. The top price was 53gns. Three pigs made more than 45gns, four more than 30gns, and eight exceeded 20gns.
