HUGE TRADE LOSS.
TASKS FOR DR. SCHACHT
' DIFFICULTY WITH.HITLER, (United Press Association—Copyright). LONDON, August 9.. The Berlin correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" says that official figures show that between the autumn of June, 1529, and June,-1934, exports decreased in value by 75 per cent, and in volume by 60 per cent. The new task of Dr. Schacht (Presi : dent of the Reichsbank), as Economic Minister, will not be made lighter by the fact that HerFHitler dislikes hearing the truth" when it is unpleasant, says the correspondent. It is reported that Herr Kessler. leader of the Economic Association, was dismissed because he gave Herr Hitler a true report of Germany's economic plight. Dr. Schacht, however, is an adroit politician, and is not likely to irnke Herr Kessler's mistake: but it will be a miracle if he steers the country through its difficulties.
