WALLACE CETS APPOINTMENT. LONDON, June 1. The "Daily Mail" says that J. Wallace, the unemployed artisan, who reached the final of the British amateur golf championship, in which he was beaten by W. Lawson Little (U.S.) 14 and 13, has accepted an appointment as playing professional to the Selsdon Park Club, Croydon.

PLAY IN CHRISTCHURCH. Scores in the senior stroke handicap played in conjunction with the first qualifying round of the Campbell Cup and tho first round of the War Memorial Cup at the Shirley golf links on 'Saturday included: J. T. Smith 80— 4—76 and V. W. Russell 92—12-80. The best net score was 73.
