BLIND MAN'S JOY.
START OF A NEW LIFE. Blindness has brought to Mr Robert Bolam, aged 47, of Boundary Cottage, Dipton', near Stanley, Durham, happiness'he has never known before. Fourteen years ago Mr Bolam while acting as an official shot-firer, was rendered" sightless by an accident. But that was only the start of a new life for him. Ho built himself a workshop which adjoins his house, and it is here that he spends the greater part of the day. Mr Bolam has made a three-valve wireless set and gramophone. In addition ho is an expert hat-maker, chair and table constructor. Attached to his i cottage is a, large plot of land upon which he raises produce, goats, and liens. Ho is never idle, and is always busy working for himself or his neighbours. Work, lie says, has been his salvation.
