ALLEGED EFFECT ON PRICES
(United Press Association —Copyright! LONDON, A lay 31.
The Imported Meat Trade Association has circularised all members or the House of Commons regarding meat marking, for which a draft order-in-councii was laid'before the House on May 8. -The Association points out that the effect will be cheaper prices lor disfigured meat, consequently lower prices for home-grown, also that purchase of stud stock are likely to cease as there will bo no inducement to growers in Australia, New Zealand and South America to try to maintain the standard of .flocks and herds if meat is subsequently to be wilfully disfigured. The circular encloses a photograph showing joints as marked by order-in-council and asks members if their constituents would like their meat, thus disfigured.
