OPPOSITION LEADER.
TO TOUR THE NORTH ISLAND. (Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, 'April 18. The leader of the Opposition, Mr M. J. Savage, returned to Wellington today after a comprehensive tour of the South Island. He said he was struck by the great interest being taken in political matters, especially in the farming communities. There was no doubt the people were anxious for an election, as they felt the country was heading for the edge of a precipice, and something had to be done to, stop it from going over. , ' Mr Savage will spend a fortnight m Auckland and will then undertake a complete tour of the North Island.
