ALLENTON DEFEATS ASHBURTON A friendly match between*the Allenton and Ashburton Bowling Clubs was played on the Allentom greens on Saturday afternoon, and resulted in a win for Allenton by 86 points to 62. Details are as follow (Allenton skips', names first):— Templeton 26, A. Lane 13; Acton 21, Mactier 14; J. Boothroyd 23, McShorry 10; ,Mathieson 16, L. C. C. Dunn 25.
EMPIRE GAMES. NEW ZEALAND' REPRESENTATIVES. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, March 10. New Zealand will; be represented in the bowling section ol .the Empire Games to bo held in London during the second week in August. There will be bowling on five days, with competitions in singles, pairs and rinks. Three players from Auckland and one from TVaikato arc combining to form a rink. They are H. Grocott, G. G. Pollard and G. of Auckland, and W. W. Dillicar, of Hamilton./ They left for England to-day by the Ruahinc, and it is their intention .to participate in the singles and pairs as well as in the rinks.
