TAKAPUNA RACES. MASTER. BRIERLY IN FORM. (Per Press Association). AUCKLAND, Jan. 29. The Takapuna Jockey Club's meeting was concluded to-day in fine weather before a good attendance. The totalisator handled £25,025, compared with £22,866 15s last year, an increase of £2158 ss, the total for tho meeting being' £45,911 10s, as against £43,229 10s last year, an increase of £2682.
Concluding results: — Hauraki Plate, of 300 sovs; one mile and one furlong.—3 (3) Psychologist (L. Dulieu) 1,2 (2) Limbohm 2, 5 (5) Gay Broney 3. Won by a head. Time, 1.53 2-5.
Waiwera High-weight' Handicap, ot 130 sovs; one mile.—3 (3) Thespis (Burgess) 1, 4 (4) Court-haven 2, 5 (5) Gleurata 3. Won by half a head. The Wanganui Jockey Club committee to-day .decided to revert to tho single pool for totalisator investments at the nuumn meeting, February 15 and 17. One dividend will bo paid where there are four or fewer starters and two dividends whore there are five or more, but there will be no third dividend..
JOCKEY DISQUALIFIED
WAIROA, Jan. 29
After the running of the President's Handicap at the Wairoa meeting on Saturday, an inquiry was held iuto alleged interference in the straight suffered by Little Wonder, who finished second. Harold Young, rider of Gansfkl, winner of the race, was held to have caused the trouble and was disqualified for two mouths. The placing* in tho race were, however, not altered.
BRISBANE MEETING. BRISBANE, Jan. 29.' Tho Queensland Turf Club's meeting was held to-day. The principal event resulted as follows: Australia Day Handicap, of 300 sovs; one mile and three furlongs.— Mabel's Plume 1, Lady Brindabella 2, Taitapu 3. Won by a neck. Time, 2.19 J. WILLIAMSTOWN MEETING. MELBOURNE, Jan. 29. The Williainstown Racing Club's anniversary day meeting was _ conducted in severe heat. The principal results were:—■ C. F.
