LAYKOLD CUP RACE. WELLINGTON, January 27. The Laykold Cup cycling race decided at petone to-day resulted as follows : —■ '. O. Disley (Wellington) (80yds) ... 1 Easton (Palmerston N.) (26yds) ... 2 L. Sowerby (Wellington) (60yds) ... 3 F. Grose, one of the four scratch riders, was sixth. Won by two lengths. Time, 12 minutes. CANTERBURY TITLES. i. CHRISTCHURCH, January 27. At the Canterbury amateur cycling championship meeting G. R. Giles scored decisively in the half mile, one mile, and three mile events, making a clean sweep of the .titles. Frank Grose and T. A. Grose, prominent riders, during the past season were ’competing at Wellington; and therefore Giles’s task was made easier.
