ENTERTAINMENTS.

MAJESTIC THEATRE. “The Hayseeds,” a Beaumont Smith production, which opens at the Majestio Theatre to-night, typifies the rugged carefree qualities that are associated, with Australian “bush-whackers.” It is full of the topsy : turvey humour ot such persons who preface their remarks with a “by cripes” _or “stone the crows.” Dad is admirably portrayed by Cecil Kellaway, whose conversation lias the brevity of the average farmer as well as being droll. Much of his humour is made up of thrusts at Joe, his extremely awkward son, who does a little serious but awkward mashing with Pansy, who herself shares Joe’s awkwardness. As is necessary in such pictures, Mum must he the homeliest of women and Katie Towers is all that., Australia, has many scenic beauties, even in her hinterland', and the cameraman has brought the charm of the tall gums, the undulating pastures and the wooded valleys to the screen.
