At the wool sales, 1.7,170 hales were offered, including 4214 from New Zealand, and about 9750 were sold. A satisfactory sale was sustained by Home and Continental competition, apart from some withdrawals of inferior quality. Steady rates were maintained.
New Zealand greasy merinos, “Tipua,” topped the sale at 19$d, with an average of 15§d.
