SKELETON FOUND.
HOLE IN LEFTSIDE OF SKULL. ( FIND AT LAKE PUKAKI. (Per Press Association). TIMARU, This Day. The skeleton of a fully matured man was found 53 miles from Fairlie and about 200 yards from the shores of Lake Pukaki. There was a in the left side of tho skull. The skeleton was found by Air W. AlcNarry, a Council employee, close to some matagouri bushes. If would appear that the body had been buried in the sand, but could not have been buried very deep owing to the rocky and stony nature of the ground at this spot. From investigations it appears as if a fire had been over the ground where the skeleton was found, thus'eliminating any trace of clothing. Constable Alackintosh brought the skeleton to Fairlie and inquiries are being made. From the position of the skeleton it was not possible for it' to have been washed down the lake.
