SWORDFISH POSTER.
FRENCH BOYSi’ REQUEST. “NOBODY EVER TELLS US.” LONDON, Dec.'2o. The following interesting letter was’ received recently by the High Commissioner, Sir Thomas Wilford, from Mr F. Sequestra, in Franco:— “I am an English teacher in a French grammar school for hoys at Macon, Last Wednesday I happened to be in London for the football match France y. England. When passing in the Strand I noticed in the shop window of your office a fine poster representing a large swordfish leaping above the sea, with a ship in the background. Once back in France, I spoke to my pupils of the wonders I had seen in London, and I told them of the poster I had seen. They said to me, ‘Do you think that the director would be so kind as to send us the poster? We are ini France and nobody' ever tells us of the beauty of the British Empire. We know nothing of New Zealand.’ I replied that _ I should tell the director of .their wish and that perhaps lie would send us the said poster, together with booklets or pamphlets.” Copies of the poster, as well as other illustrated material depicting New Zealand scenes, have been forwarded to Mr Sequestra.
