Anniversary Day drowning accidents totalled seven, including two youths who have not yet been identified, and who -were drowned when a canoe 'capsized off Maroubra. Life-savers had a busy day assisting surfers who were caught in the dangerous currents running on most of the beaches.
Sixty bathers wore brought in at Manly.
