WORLD PEACE
THE BRITISH VIEWPOINT. WOULD BE WELCOMED BY EUROPE. PREPARING FOR A RESUMPTION. (United Press Association —Copyright). (Received This Day, 10.55 a.m.) LOWDOin, January 24. It is probable that the British Government will, at an early date, make a declaration of its view upon the disarmament situation. Recent diplomatic changes have in dicated that such a statement from the British Government would be welcomed. It is understood that at a meeting of the Cabinet this afternoon, the situation regarding disarmament will be reviewed in the light of recent developments. These have included an exchange of Notes between France and Germany, the replies given by the German Government to the questions addressed to them by the British Ambassador at Berlin, and the results of the conversations on the subject m "which Sir John Simon took part during his visit to Geneva last week. Very careful consideration is now beiim' (riven to the question of what further step by Britain can be made to prepare the ground for “resumption of active work by the Disaimament Conference.
