PERSONAL.
The Hon. L. M. Isitt, M.L.C., was a passenger for the south on the express train this morning. Mr C, R. Orr Walker, S.M., of Timaru, who has-been acting as relieving magistrate at Wellington for a week, returned; south by the express train this morning. In the House of Representatives yesterday, Mr |P. C, Webb, the newlyelected member for Buller, was ;for : inally sworn in, Messrs E. J. Howard and JR. Scrapie acting as his sponsors. Mrs ID. W. Buchanan, who has been for a trip to: England, returned to Ashburton by the express train this morning after an absence of about seven months. „ She was accompanied on her return by Mr Buchanan, who met lier in Australia. The Mayor' (Mr W. H. Woods) left Ashburton last evening to attend a meeting of the executive $f the New Zealand Municipal Association at Wellington to-day. He will return to-mor-row. '. ' . Mr G. H. Watson, who has been on the staff cf the Ashburton Public Trust office for the past three years, has been transferred to Christchurch and will leave Ashburton next month. Mr M. O'Reilly, of the ChristcfhureF office, will fill the"vacangy at Ashburton. .
