SEVEN CANDIDATES STANDING.

''Special to the " Guardian.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. There are seven candidates for the election of four wheatgi-ower directors to the Wheat Marketing Agency Co., Ltd., .and 17 candidates for the seven positions as provisional directors of the new wheatgrowers' organisation to be known as the United Wheatgrowers of New Zealand, Ltd. The growers' electoral committee, in the personnel of which 8000 wheatgrowers had a vote, was elected some weeks ago. It will moot in Christchurch.at 10.30 a.m. to-morrow to elect directors for both organisations. Any candidates who may bo present will bo asked by the committee to state their views before the election takes place. Nominations of the following candidates had been made when nominations closed with the Returning Officer (Mr R. McPherson) at 4 p.m. yesterday: Wheat Marketing Agency Co., Ltd. C. A.. Campion, Highbank. James Carr, Methvcn. A. Craig, Greenfield, Balclutha. C. C. Derrett, Waipounamu, Southland. A. Grant, Waimate. W. W. Mulholland, Darfield. H. F. Nicoll; Ashburton. The United Wheatgrowers of New Zealand, Ltd., will be representative of ail wheatgrowers. Its purpose will be to watch wheatgrowers' interests, although it is not expected that this organisation will ever take part in actual trading or the marketing of wheat.
