COMPENSATION TO A WIDOW. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 30. Compensation amounting to £IOOO and medical and funeral expenses of £SO, the full amounts claimed 1 , together with costs totalling £22 Is, were awarded by Air Justice Frazer in the Arbitration Court to-day to Jessie Smart, a widow, of Wellington, against the Wellington. Publishing Company. The claim was as the result of her husband, Andrew Smart, a computer, aged 67 years, falling down a flight of stairs while in the employ of defendant company. The amount of compensation will be less a sum of money already paid.
