.PRINTERS FINED £5. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, October 27. Giving a. reserved decision in the Magistrate's Court to-day, Mr E. Page, S.M.j imposed the minimum penalty of £5 on L.'-T. Watkins, Ltd., for omitting tto the name and registered office of the company on a paper printed by it. The fact that the defendant printed a. paper which purported! to lie, a copy of t-,\o articles published in the "Melbourne Argus" was admitted, but counsel for the defence contended that the paper came within the exemntion set out in Section 8 of the*Printers and Newspapers Registration Act, 1008. . , The Magistrate did not think that the articles could be held to coma within the exception set out Tn clause 8, and ho decided that defendant had committed a. breach of the Statute.
