THE PIG INDUSTRY.
MOVE FOR BETTER MARKETING. (Rer Press Association). HAMILTON, October 21. An important step toward placing the pig industry on a better footing vas announced to-day after considerable discussion among representatives of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Company, Amalgamated Dairies, Ltd., the New Zealand Pig Marketing Association and the Kiwi Bacon Company, Palmerston North. It has been decided to form a new co-operative company to purchase the assets of the Kiwi Company. The new company will bo known as the Kiwi Cooperative Bacon Co., Ltd., and the present' capital, £36,000, will be held as follows: New Zealand Dairy, Amalgamated Dairies and Picot Bros., Ltd., £IO,OOO each; Pig Marketing Association, £6OOO. It is intended to increaso the capital to £40,000 by the creation of 4000 new shares, to be taken by the New Zealand Pig Marketing Association. The main object behind the movement is to secure for pig producers a permanent outlet for bacon pigs.
