CLAIM FOR DAMAGES.
SEQUEL TO A COLLISION (Special to the "Guardian.") CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A claim for £lO4 Is and a counterclaim for £8 16s were heard before Mr H A Young, S.M.. in the Magistrate s Court vesterday. Plaintiffs were Herbert Reesby and Lester Conway Anderson, both farmers, of Lyndhurst, and defendant was Rink Taxis, Ltd., of Christ-church. Mr Twyneham appeared for plaintiffs and Mr A. Brown for defendant. The claims arose from an accident m May last on the Main South Road, approaching the Selwyn Bridge. The company's car was towing a car belonging to John William Shaw McArthur. Plaintiffs claimed that through the negligence of the company's servant a collision occurred between plaintiff's car, and also between Anderson's and McArthur's cars. The car driven by Anderson, and owned by Reesby, was wrecked and not worth repairing. Its value before the accident was £IOO. Anderson required medical attention for injuries, incurring an account of £4 Is. The counter-claim was for damages to the company's car. Defendant alleged negligence on the part of plaintiffs. The Magistrate gave judgment for defendants on the claim, and on the counter-claim for £5 16s.
