HOCKEY.
THE METHVEN TOURNAMENT. The annual six-a-side tournament conducted by the Methven Women's Hockey Club was held at Methven today under ideal weather conditions. Forty-six entries were received, representing 27 men's and women's clubs, and many interesting matches / were witnessed. There was a good attendance of the public. Results of the women's matcUes up to 2.30 o'clock wore as follow: Senior A Grade. First Round.—Hinds R 2, Methven IB nil: Methven A 2, Winchester nil; Sonthbrook 1. Ashburton Hi<*h School nil. Senior B Grade. < First Round. Methven District High School 3, Lauriston B 1; Rakaia 2, Rawhiti 1. Junior Grade. First Round. Methven District High School 1 Methven B nil: Methven A 2, Mount Somers A 2- Ashburton High School 1, Lvttelton nil; Hinds A 3, Mount Somers B nil.
